Christ the King PDF Print E-mail
On the Sunday before Advent, the Church recalls how Christ ushered in God’s reign, ‘the kingdom of God’. Now ascended to the right hand of God, Christ is given all power and authority. The Church looks forward to his coming again as King, fulfilling God’s rule.

In some churches this is also Women Against Violence Sunday, bringing a sharp contrast between the present circumstances of many women in this country and abroad and the anticipation of Christ’s reign of peace and love for all.
