I need to be alone with Christ |

I need to be alone with Christ To go to the deepest well The sanctuary of love, hope, peace And drink my fill.
To become a friend of my frailties And so a friend of the weak To gently touch in them and in me The wounds of Christ.
To find what is strange inside me The anguish beyond my control To make a friend of the stranger within And the one I meet. To acknowledge the hurt I carry To feel, in my grief and pain, At one with rejected lonely souls And dare to love.
To welcome the need, the poverty, The truth of who God sees I am For there will I find living water And all is well.
