An Easter Prayer PDF Print E-mail
God of love,

at this season when we recall the incredulous surprise of the first disciples,
when we are led to laugh at impossibilities
and discover with them that hope can be reborn out of the depths of despair,
we share with you our longing to be surprised again:

by a firm commitment on the part of governments and individuals everywhere to halt the human impact on climate change

by a commitment on the part of households and industries to the conservation of increasingly scarce water resources

by a widespread global commitment to fair trade which transforms the fortunes of poor farmers and factory workers

by the elimination of human trafficking, domestic slavery and sexual exploitation

by the overthrow of tyrants and the rout of terrorism

by peace agreements that hold wherever there is conflict and an end to warfare and violence everywhere

Remind us this Easter-time that this is your agenda and that these are not impossibilities to despair of but goals to work for, with all the tireless passion, faith and commitment of Jesus our risen Lord.
