Searching
I searched my life and found Uncivilised behaviour. My waking hours were bound In bettering my neighbour.
I searched my world and found Unrivalled competition, And simple trusting drowned In envy and suspicion.
I searched my mind and found That all was in confusion, With theories to confound But absence of conclusion.
I searched my heart and found A love, but misdirected: Not out to those around But to myself connected.
I searched my soul and found An emptiness and yearning, A longing so profound For holiness returning.
I searched for God and found Him waiting close beside me. His joy and peace surround, His love will ever guide me.
