Come bring your burden to me

The ‘saving Word’ brings support and healing in troubled times. This hymn can be sung to the tune ‘Aurelia’.

When day is overshadowed, horizon lost in cloud,
No solid ground or progress, no calm but protest loud,
There are no easy answers, no simple how or why
And in the deepening darkness, no light to steer by.

When night seems never-ending and comfort there is none,
Brought to your knees exhausted, the pain seems yours alone.
Yet in the isolation no prayer will go unheard;
‘Come bring your burden to Me’, is still the saving Word.

Then let your troubled spirit unleash its fret and strain,
Confiding in the Healer who can restore again.
His love and understanding are always there for you.
He bears your grief and anger for He has felt them too.

Bring to Him your frustrations, fatigue and deep despair,
And all your guilt and heart-ache to leave them in His care.
He walks your Way of Sorrow and takes you by the arm,
His strength for you in weakness, his peace in every storm.

No longer I but Christ

No longer I but Christ
No longer mine but yours
No longer have but give
No longer blame but mercy
Empty that I may be filled
Open that I may be given
Free that I may belong
Yours that I may be used.
