For worshippers, it is encouraging to hear a prayer of dismissal that sends people out in peace, in the power of the Holy Spirit to live and work to God's praise and glory. With such a prayer comes a blessing. The blessing is from God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit (not the speaker). The blessing is for this moment and for always. There are some beautiful contemporary prayers of dismissal and blessing, but whether familiar or fresh, worshippers need to receive peace, spiritual strength and divine blessing.
‘The grace' has merits, of course, but dismissal and blessing enrich, nourish and enable.
