Revised Common Lectionary PDF Print E-mail
  • The Revised Common Lectionary is now in use by many denominations across the world.  It provides a carefully organised approach to Bible readings across a three-year period, encouraging preachers and leaders of worship to explore a wide range of themes and to celebrate the seasons and festivals of the Church Year.
In these pages of the website you will find:
  • the readings themselves listed Sunday by Sunday for the
    • Principal Service - related readings
    • Principal Service - continuous readings
    • Second Service - continuous readings
  • a brief summary of each reading
  • a suggested theme for each service
  • suggested hymns and songs for the day (some of them encouraging you to explore some less familiar territory)

There is a health warning!  The list of readings is definitive, but the summaries cannot do full justice to the full Bible readings and the themes and hymns/songs can only be 'suggested'.  Every preacher needs to be ready for fresh possibilities and insights.
