On the occasion of our Anniversary, We were once again blessed with good weather – a lot of prayers were answered in the circuit. We had a wonderful day with many visitors, including residents with their family members, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoying the garden, which had been newly planted out with numerous flowers. By about midday we were inundated with a few thousand extra uninvited guests in the menacing form of a swarm of bees which took up residence in and around one of the lights in the Arbor.
Our Manager made immediate enquiries to find a local Bee Keeper and eventually located two people to come. Their antics provided some very interesting entertainment as they went through the ritual of capturing the swarm whilst everyone looked on from a safe distance!
The day came to an end with a Buffet Supper followed by musical entertainment organized by our Home’s Chaplain, Clive Wooldridge.
